Teufelstein
FischbachFischbach's local mountain is a popular hiking destination for young and old: a quick one-and-a-half-hour summit tour or the longer Teufelstein tour - many variants are possible.
Both the mountain in the Fischbacher Alps and the three large, superimposed boulders on the summit are called Teufelstein. These three boulders are known on everyone's lips as the "Devil's Stone". With a height of about 6 meters, the three rocks offer a great view over the surrounding Alps and towns.
However, from a geological point of view, the three boulders are the result of weathering. Hard rocks often last longer than their surroundings and so such rock formations are not uncommon, especially in the Eastern Alps. Nevertheless, this stone probably served as a calendar stone because the rock is hewn flat on two sides.
