Particularly noteworthy is his long-standing role as a course instructor for watercolour and reverse glass painting at the Volkshochschule Graz from 1981 to 2020.
Steurer's work is characterised by an impressive variety of techniques, including graphics, watercolour, ceramics, tempera gouache, oil, acrylic, reverse glass and fresco painting. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, including in Calgary, Augsburg, Reutlingen, Maribor and Barcelona-Sabadell. In collaboration with Professor Franz Weiß, he has also designed many wayside shrines and chapels in Styria, such as St Christopher's on the church tower of Don Bosco in Graz.
The ‘Heimatverbunden’ exhibition offers an in-depth insight into the multifaceted work of an artist who had a significant influence on the Styrian art scene. A visit to the Galerie am Schlossbergtor in Voitsberg promises a special cultural experience in the Graz Region.
