In Eggersdorf near Graz, in the heart of green Styria, Karl and Grete Taucher distil single-variety brandies and fruity liqueurs with great dedication and refine their farm's own fruit into jams and Swiss stone pine sacks. What begins in March with a lush apricot blossom leads to the daily harvest of fully ripe fruit in July - fresh from the tree straight into the bottle or glass. Whether apricot, raspberry, elderberry or plum - each variety is lovingly processed. The apricot jam and the single-variety apricot brandy are particularly popular. The products make wonderful culinary gifts and are often brought along to invitations.
Numerous awards show that quality is a top priority here: At tastings in Styria and the Alpe-Adria region, there have already been 19 medals - including six in gold - and two variety victories. The family business is also a member of ‘Gutes vom Bauernhof’, which stands for regional quality and sustainability. If you want to experience real Styrian flavours, this is the right place for you.
