Gleinalm Schutzhaus - alpine hut
ÜbelbachAlmruhe & Lipizzanerblick - rustic shelter and pilgrimage church at 1,586 m
At an altitude of 1,600 meters, the Gleinalm refuge is a retreat away from roads and the noises of civilization. Gentle alpine meadows, dark forest edges, and the view of the pilgrimage church Maria Schnee create a place full of peace and relaxation in the Graz Experience Region. Those who stop here have already completed a hike or pilgrimage route – and are welcomed with warmth and good food.
The refuge is operated depending on snow conditions from mid-May to mid-September. It is only accessible on foot – usually after about three hours of walking from different directions. The effort is worth it!
Important for arrival: Direct access via the forest road is only possible on event days (June 24, July 2, July 25, August 5, and August 24). The forest road opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 7:00 PM!
Those who want to spend the night close to nature will find accommodation in six rustic rooms and a mattress dormitory. Ideal for small groups, families, or solo hikers – with cabin charm and a view. Early reservation is recommended – the alpine summer is short but all the more precious.
