Brandalm
Ramsau am DachsteinDachstein Kircherl & Mountaineer Memorial
Brandalm is an idyllic place at 1.600 m above sea level. The hut is located directly next to the ski and walking path within Ramsau’s alpine pasture region to the foot of the Dachstein. The views onto the beautiful mountain ranges and the southern walls of the Dachstein massif, the Schladminger Tauern on the other side offer make their sun terrace a perfect place to rest. If it’s too chilly outside, you can warm up to some folk music next to the ceramic stove indoors and enjoy our warm hospitality.
Our Alm is directly located at the foot of the Dachstein, in the middle of our own alpine pasture. Our pasture spreads across wide, partly grazing land and has been passed down in our family for generations. Due to the dissolution of the chalet, Fritz Schrempf decided to build a smaller Almhütte in 1980. Together with his wife Erika and his three children, they highly value tradition and folk music.
Over time, renovations and additions to the building have been made with the largest-scale renovation taking place in 2007. In 2012, the ownership of the Brandalm was passed down to their son Philipp Schrempf, though the father started to build the Dachstein Kircherl, a little chapel, the same year. In 2014, the chapel was inaugurated and has since been used for smaller weddings, christenings, and other festivities. The mountaineer memorial, which is being maintained by Ramsau's Mountain Rescue Team, is a memorial for all mountaineers who were killed in accidents in the Dachstein region.
