Bauernmuseum Gundersdorf
St. Stefan ob StainzInsights into agriculture from 1850-1970!
The Bauernmuseum Gundersdorf - also called "Adis Oldies" - preserves a piece of West Styrian peasant history and gives an insight into the world of agriculture from 1850 into the 70s What can become of a cowshed when there are no cows milked there? Very much! For example, a museum with farm equipment, tools and old machines. A place of collector's passion, baptized by Adolf "Adi" Strohmeier. The Bauernmuseum Gundersdorf takes you back to those times when there was no electricity or tractors. Times in which the oxen were still driven by hand over the field. When the flax was threshed right on the farmyard, processed and woven into coarse linen. From 1962 to summer 2009 Adi and his wife Anni farmed the farm and raised five children. In the barn, good bugs, calves and bulls had their home for decades. After dissolving the dairy industry, Adi has brought together in this stable many large and small implements from the farm, the neighborhood and other farms. Exhibits that look as exotic today as 1960 TV 101 exhibits - started by Hoazlbock, press baskets (Kanl), plows, "Rauchkatz", threshing machines, Droad mills, food chippers, gutter shakers, horse and ox Kummert, train saws, Wood saws, lard, "Drietl", "Wog" ,, Linsenkämme, Kloastangen, Boandreschl, Baufn-Hobln, to the Breinwurscht-Spritzn, bedpan, Flegn, Hühnersteign, Sauwog, .... and Adi demonstrates all his pride - threshing with an original threshing machine powered by a diesel engine.
