Museum Zum alten Brennkessel
Wies"Zum alten Brennkess'l" Jöbstl's collection of distilling equipment
Waltraud Jöbstl, the internationally awarded, West Styrian distiller invites you to her private collection of distilling equipment.
The distilling equipment museum "Zum alten Brennkessel" is housed in the old Kellerstöckl dating back to 1865. In the anteroom, the historical development of schnapps distilling from antiquity to the present is explained in display cases. In the museum room rare mash containers made of ceramics, distilling kettles made of clay, copper and wood are exhibited. The ambitious collector and lover of fine spirits knows how to tell a story about each exhibit on display. After all, she has collected every single piece during the last decades - in the southwest Styrian border region to Slovenia... If you feel like it, you can also take a look at the modern show distillery or taste your way through the more than 30 varieties of noble brandies.
Monday through Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | Sundays by appointment.
