Pfarrkirche Oberhaag
OberhaagThe icon on the high altar of the parish church is a "Mariahilfbild" and is modeled on the miraculous original in Rome. The high altar was donated by Georg and Maria Meßner vlg. Heizl in Bischofegg. The high altar was made by master cabinetmaker Johann Rossmann in Graz.
On the high altar is the "Mariahilfbild". -The pulpit with staircase was also made from larch wood by master carpenter Johann Rossmann. The Antonial altar - now the Sacred Heart of Jesus altar - was dedicated by Anton and Johanna Krottmaier vlg. Blasjackl from Großlieschen in 1909, while the Josefialtar was created by Johanna Haring vlg. The painting above the high altar was designed by the academic painter Frater Lukas Reicht from the Benedictine Abbey of Seckau near Knittelfeld. Mary is depicted as Queen of Angels, Queen of Saints and Help of Christians. Frater Lukas Reicht also painted the four evangelists and the two paintings above the side altars (The Annunciation and the Visitation). He also painted the triumphal arch with the "Hail Mary". The interior of the church was renovated in 1989 and a new altar and ambo were built by the Kner company from Wildon. The old organ from 1948 by the organ company Dreher from Salzburg was no longer up to standard, so in 1994 we were given the organ from the pilgrimage church Maria-Fieberbründl in Eastern Styria. Father Vinzenz Ehmann from Ottendorf - a native of Oberhaag - donated the organ for our parish church in Oberhaag. Father Ehmann consecrated the organ on June 12, 1994.
