Rastturm Hochmoor Garanas
Bad SchwanbergThis tower invites you to take a short break and is located in the Garanas high moorland area.
As early as 1965 the bog was recognised as a therapeutic mud. The high moor of Garanas at about 1300 m above sea level is the highest therapeutic mud in Austria. Raised bogs belong to a rare type of moor, which is fed only by rainwater low in mineral salts and is independent of the groundwater body. In Garanas the moor formation began around 4000 BC in the Neolithic Age. The composition of the therapeutic mud of Garanas has a very special effect. Tip: To visit the raised bog, guided tours of the Schwanberg therapeutic mud bath can be requested!
Freely accessible.
