Bad SchwanbergClassic Schilcher, Schilcher grape juice, Schilcher frizzante, Blauer Wildbacher and Schilchersturm - all this is made by the Koch family from the Blauer Wildbacher grape. You are welcome to come for a tasting by appointment by phone.
We are a family business in sideline. We cultivate a vineyard of 0.71 ha, which is planted exclusively with Blue Wildbacher, the "Schilcherrebe". Our farm is located at about 400 m above sea level. The soil on which our vines thrive consists of loose sediment brown earth, which gives the Schilcher the notes of currant leaves, rhubarb and nettle. The result is reflected in our product range.
Our son Elias Koch is "Young winemaker 2023".
The Schilcher Klassik Westeiermark DAC, with which he was named Young Winemaker 2023 , Elias Koch describes as a very young and fruity wine, "is good to drink and also goes well with the Jause". Its characteristics are the fresh and intense aroma of currant and wild berry and the invigorating acidity. As a graduate of the Silberberg technical college, Elias Koch has made it his goal to lead our family business successfully and sustainably into the future. With passion, love for wine and nature and the will to constantly evolve and never stand still.
