Exhibition: Structure and Texture – Stone Sculptures in Kapfenstein
KapfensteinMaria Heinrich and Gerhard Koch present various types of rocks in an artistic way.
The exhibition showcases sculptures made from stones from both home and abroad. Both sculptors predominantly work in an abstract manner and allow their geological knowledge about the origin and character of the stones to shine through. Their shared approach of drawing inspiration from color, grain, and patterns in the stone in a predominantly abstract way is unique to both artists; yet, in the special atmosphere of the Lange Keller, two different artistic expressions confront each other. The varying forms invite a tangible examination of the specific inner individuality of the stones, and alongside the expression of form, the type of stone, and the site of discovery, respect is also paid to the age of the stones.
