AWZ Fürstenfeld
FürstenfeldThe Fürstenfeld waste management center (AWZ) is available to the residents of Fürstenfeld and the neighboring municipality of Loipersdorf for waste disposal in addition to traditional waste collection and recycling.
The jointly used collection and sorting center on an area of around 15,000 square meters on the L 207 (Fürstenfeld bypass from the B 319 towards Loipersdorf) creates the best conditions for ecologically efficient recycling. The center achieves a recycling rate of 91%, which is well above the Austrian average. The joint use of the facility by several municipalities results in high cost efficiency and offers citizens an optimal service.
The AWZ Fürstenfeld is also an energy producer: an 80kW photovoltaic system has been installed on around 1,000 square meters of roof space. "The system produces significantly more energy than it consumes," says Stadtwerke Managing Director Dr. Bernhard Edelsbrunner, delighted with "Austria's first plus-energy waste management center!"
