Burgau moated castle
BurgauThe gem, the most important water castle in the region, is located in the middle of Burgau. Numerous exhibitions and guided tours are available throughout the year.
The moated castle of Burgau was first mentioned in a document in 1367 and was originally built as a defense tower and surrounded by moats.
Today, Burgau Castle serves as a location for many summer events. These events include art exhibitions, concerts and theater performances. At Advent time the castle becomes "A Magic of Christmas" with a unique art-craft exhibition. Furthermore, there is also a great Easter exhibition.
Guided tours for groups on request.
The roof, castle and moat can be admired from the outside by individual visitors. The inner courtyard is also accessible.
Guided tours for groups of 20 people or more can be arranged directly with the municipality of Burgau on request.
