DeVin Gin&Bitter - Lisa Bauer
FehringDeVin represents youthful recklessness, lostness and self-realization in the form of modern, premium and cleanly produced distillates.
Lisa Bauer and the Gin of Life
When you ask Lisa Bauer from Hatzendorf near Fehring about her reasons for becoming a distiller, she smiles and talks about her search for herself and the "taste of life" in South America, somewhere between Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Austria. It seems that not only did she find herself and the meaning of life during her journey, but she also discovered the Gin of Life — which, apparently, was meant to be.
The daughter of a Buschenschank owner and aspiring farmer, Lisa Bauer gained knowledge and practical expertise on trendy beverages like gin and bitters through numerous theoretical courses and stays abroad. She then launched her own production. Today, Lisa Bauer has built her own distillery on the family farm.
The success of her concept was proven at the Gin Competition in Berlin, where Lisa Bauer's DeVin Gin was awarded the prestigious "Gin of the Year" title. She has since won several other international awards for her products. So where can you find DeVin Gin? It’s not sold in bulk wholesale, but it can be found in gourmet and farm shops, small retailers, and, of course, directly from Lisa Bauer herself.
Oh, and be sure to try the "Sloe Gin" — it's not a true gin, but rather a sloe liqueur infused with gin. Just top it off with sparkling water in the summer — a delightful treat!
