Dekalog-Weg Feldbach - einzigartig in Österreich
FeldbachThe new Decalogue Trail is worth a visit
The "Decalogue Way" is the sculptural implementation of the 10 Commandments, translated into our time. A centrally located meeting place as an enrichment for the city and for the parish.
This carefully elaborated project was realized by the artists Hannes Fladerer (commandments 3, 4, 7, 9), Michael Endlicher (2, 8), Werner Schimpl (1, 10) and Kurt Straznicky (5, 6) according to a common concept. The installation of the discreetly illuminated stations took place on the north side of the parish church and the memorial church.
The immediate proximity to the Feldbach Tabor inspired the artists to select individual objects and forms from there for the design of the stations. These are representative of people's reflections on the 10 Commandments and on the connection of these with everyday life. Casting molds made of bronze and aluminum were created, which, supplemented by lettering, interpret the 10 Commandments in a contemporary way.
Based on the idea of Bgm. Ing. Josef Ober, the art project "Dekalog-Weg" was commissioned and financed through an EU funding program.
Right next door is a photo and dwelling place - directly in front of the colorful church tower as a sign of a new "living together in diversity". The multi-level pedestal designed by Andreas Stern takes over the footprint of the church tower. The attached lettering "Living in Diversity" refers to this very principle, lived by the municipality of Feldbach.
