The Raschberg circuit is one of the most varied mountain bike routes in Ausseerland and offers both a sporting challenge and scenic highlights. The tour leads from the Loser Arena via the Blaa Alm and the Rettenbachtal to the Grabenbachhütte and on to the Raschberg, with spectacular views of the Hütteneckalm below. or those who are out and about on an e-bike.
The start is at the Loser Arena, at the foot of the famous Loser massif. From here, the tour follows a gravel road past the Altaussee high ropes course to the picturesque Blaa Alm. This is followed by a descent to the right and then immediately left again into the Rettenbachtal valley. A steep section with coarse gravel requires careful riding. Continue through a short tunnel (a lamp can be helpful) to the Rettenbachalm.
About 2.3 km after the alpine pasture, the path branches off sharply to the left, over a bridge and uphill towards Grabenbach. Above the stream, the trail climbs steadily to the Grabenbachhütte. Keep left there and continue uphill to the Raschberg. The highest point is reached at an altitude of around 1,300 meters - with panoramic views of the Hütteneckalm.
The descent is via a steep forest road to the Hütteneck junction, where you turn left towards St. Agatha. Ignore all further junctions and ride through a large open area. Afterwards, an asphalt section begins through a wooded area, where you turn left towards the Halleralm.
Above the alpine pasture, a forest road joins from the valley. Continue straight ahead on this road to the end. A narrow path branches off to the right and leads to the Michlhallbach stream, which is crossed via a narrow footbridge. On the left is an archaeological excavation site with finds from Roman times.
The path continues straight ahead to the end of the road. An earth path leads to the forest ditch, turn left there, past the barrier and uphill towards the salt mine. The path leads past the Steinberg and back to the Loser Arena on asphalt.
This tour combines sporty cycling in the countryside, cultural highlights and exciting trail sections - a real highlight for experienced off-road bikers.
