Engaging in sports and enjoyment is the motto for exploring Murtal by bike. This year, diligent athletes have the opportunity to snatch the title of King and Queen of Murtal and secure the coveted winner's jersey. A highlight is the concluding event in October, where the most beautiful race track in the world opens its doors exclusively for cyclists.
From May 1st to September 30th, 2024, road cyclists and mountain bikers have the opportunity to join the Erlebnisregion Murtal club on STRAVA (an app for tracking sporting activities) and compete for the title of KoMurtal & QoMurtal. Various routes in the Murtal region will be offered, allowing cyclists to discover the most beautiful aspects of the area.
Participants must be registered on STRAVA and complete at least 3 segments (tours) in the Erlebnisregion Murtal club. Additionally, between May and September, they can collect kilometers on a weekly basis regardless of location, whether on vacation, during evening workouts, or on club outings – the main thing is that the kilometers are logged via Strava in the Murtal club.
To earn the title of KoMurtal & QoMurtal, contenders must participate in the concluding event on October 19th and demonstrate their calf strength with at least one lap at the Red Bull Ring. This event proved to be extremely popular last year, with many participants taking advantage of the unique opportunity to pedal on the most beautiful racetrack in the world.
Since this is not a competition but rather an enjoyable cycling gathering among friends or club members, participants in the challenge can simply explore, try out, and enjoy the experience.
A special treat awaits all participants of the Murtal sports events such as the Stadttriathlon Knittelfeld (May 1st, 2024), Hubiman (July 21st, 2024), and Steiraman (August 11th, 2024). Winners will each receive Greencards for the popular concluding event. Participants of the Murtal MTB Cups who demonstrate diligence and participate in the entire cup will also receive Greencards. The award ceremony for the MTB Cup will take place as part of the concluding event of KoM and QoM on October 19th, 2024.
