Seckau-Gaal:The 1st part of the tour from Seckau to Gaal in the adventure region Murtal is especially at the beginning a comfortable cycling along and it goes here first downhill.
Tip: After a few kilometers there is a hay bed on the right side that cannot be overlooked. Here you have the possibility to be pampered with hay bath treatments, or to stroll through the beautiful garden or to make a Kneipp tour. Just ask!
You will cross wooded areas, cycle briefly along a more heavily trafficked main road and then you can cycle along the Ingering to the "Bischoffeld" in the Gaal.
If you already have an appetite or would like to take a break, the Gaalerhof at the Gaalerteich is a good place to enjoy an ice cream on the terrace or cool off in the swimming pond. Or a few hundred meters further lies the Gasthof Kaiser, which spoils its cyclists with a menu. Continue in the direction of Bischoffeld and here on the right side all classic car fans will find their stopover - the VW Beetle Museum which is not only home to models steeped in history. After that the route continues, when you have left the center of Gaal, it goes uphill, passing farms along fields and through shady forest passages. Most of the way here is in the sun. At a sharp right-hand bend you will find the Steinmühle Inn (note that this is now only a guesthouse, unfortunately there is nothing to eat here) - if you branch off into the forest here, you will come to the Alpine Park after a few meters. An Eldorado for climbing enthusiasts, with a climbing garden on the rock, flying fox and various resting places by the stream. As soon as you have overcome the last incline here, the view of Seckau Abbey opens up and you can let the bike run the last part. If you are still in the mood, you can make a detour to the Weiermoarteich pond, which is only a few hundred meters away (slightly uphill), but offers a wonderful place to cool off.
Tip: Take the time to visit Seckau Abbey and enjoy a good coffee and cake at the pastry chef Regner, or a beer and a good meal at the Hofwirt.
Seckau-St.Marein/Feistritz:
The 2nd part can be tackled independently of the Gaal route, here it goes along the winding forest road, past meadows on which the cows graze - primarily downhill - to St. Martha in the village of St. Marein, here it continues through a flatter area, along fields and numerous single-family houses. A demanding part follows, at the beginning still with a slight incline it goes here always further uphill. Do not be irritated if you pass one homestead after the other. But then it goes downhill again and you cross the village of Feistritz, until you drive a short distance along the federal road and then drive towards junction 69.
Here it goes flat and quiet until you cross the river at the floating bridge over the Mur.
Tip: take a break here. Directly on the bridge there is a bench where you can sit down and feel as if you were floating on the river. Directly after the bridge you can also cool off in the Zechner recreational facility and enjoy the cool water.
You will now cross "Raßnitzdorf" which is a part of the municipality of Kobenz and at junction 72 there is a short but very challenging climb. After this, on the right side, there is a wayside shrine and a nice place in the forest to take a rest. The path leads you permanently uphill here, but the worst climb is over. Along the road, however, there are always nice places to stop, enjoy and relax. Now you have soon made it and you reach your starting point Seckau again.
