The municipality of Pernegg an der Mur is the northernmost gateway to the Almenland Nature Park. The place is particularly popular because of the Bärenschützklamm, which numerous visitors visit from May to October. Thanks to the Pernegg or Mixnitz train station and the bus connections, the place can be easily reached by public transport.
In addition to the spectacular Bärenschützklamm, you will also find numerous cyclists. The popular R2 Mur cycle path and the "Drachentour" mountain bike route run through the village.
The Drachenhöhle in Mixnitz is a nature reserve for bats and a prehistoric place. Already in prehistoric times it was used as a place of retreat by people, bears and wolves. This can be visited on a guided hike.
The program in Pernegg an der Mur is rounded off with the new excursion destination "Naturwelten Steiermark", which has created a special adventure area for children, groups and, above all, hunters and nature enthusiasts.
