The Oststeirische Römerweinstraße begins in Gleisdorf on the main square and leads via Kernstockgasse to Hohenberg and on to Gamling to the Bundesstraße 54. After approx. 2 km, it branches off in the direction of Prebensdorfberg or Nitschaberg. Via Prebensdorf, the route returns to the Bundesstraße 54, where it heads towards Pischelsdorf. Immediately before the village, it branches off in the direction of Romatschachen. The route continues via Siegersdorf, St. Johann bei Herberstein in the direction of Stubenberg am See as far as the Schielleiten junction.
From here it leads to the Schönegg junction, where it climbs steeply uphill - with magnificent views of the entire East Styrian hill country - over the Schönauberg, a short stretch along the Pöllauerstraße towards Hartberg. After Flattendorf, it branches off to Löffelbach and leads past the foot of the Ringkogel - with the highest vineyards - to Hartberg, where it leads via Habersdorf, Schölbing, Mitterberg, St. Magdalena, Rohrbach to Wagerberg and ends at the Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf.
