Und Action.
Area mountains in Schladming-Dachstein promise fun for the whole family. The Rittisberg in Ramsau am Dachstein, for example, makes practically every wish come true including an Alpine slide, the Flyline, a forest high-ropes course, swimming lake as well as a barefoot- and fairytale path. On the Planai, the brand-new 10-passenger gondola takes you up to Hopsiland, the highest playground in Styria at 1850 m above sea level. Located right next to the Planai is the Hochwurzen. This adventure mountain is best known for its exciting 7 km long mountain go-karting track. The Reiteralm is a big hit with 15 km of trails as well as the Junior Trails for children and beginners.
Animals throng to the Hauser Kaibling: Milling about on the mountain are as many as 800 sheep which spend their summers here, while there is also a petting zoo. This year, two more special experiences have been added for big and small in the form of a new disc golf course and an E-trials park. For its part, the Riesneralm, the westernmost tourist mountain in the region, promises the “highest” form of bathing experience. Here, the summit pool treats you to amazing panoramic views at 1900 m above sea level. But that’s not all. Thanks to the TierHolz-Park (a playground built into oversized animal figures made out of wood), the Summit Barefoot Path and the E-Enduro bike park, action for the whole family is guaranteed.
That said, at the region’s seven high-ropes centers, fans of adventure will have nothing to complain about either. Even bad weather isn’t a problem either, since one of these high-ropes courses is located indoors and can therefore be enjoyed regardless of the weather. The biggest rock-climbing park in the region is located in Gröbming. This adventure park greets you with two different courses, 200 stations and climbs spanning 2000 meters. On the children’s climbing course, youngsters ages three and up will also be able to get their own first taste of rock climbing. Only a stone’s throw from the adventure park is the zipline – the biggest of its kind in the Alps. At speeds as much as 115 km/h, you will glide above the treetops and enjoy amazing views from the mountains to the valleys below.
You will also find action, this time the wet variety, in abundance. The River Enns is a natural adventure playground. Here, rafting and canyoneering tours are possible, as are float trips, stand-up paddling or outings by kayak or canoe. In five stages, you can conquer over 90 km. With numerous access points along the way and almost no difficult passages. No matter what form of watery enjoyment you are into: Here, nature experiences, water sports and time spent together become a memorable experience for the whole family.
