Der große Jogl 3 Etappen: Rettenegg - Birkfeld, Rettenegg
The stage of the touring mountain bike route “Der große Jogl” leads from Rettenegg via St. Kathrein am Hauenstein and Fischbach to Birkfeld.
“Der große Jogl” leads through all eleven municipalities in the Joglland - Waldheimat region. At around 193 kilometers and 5413 meters in altitude, it is also one of the longest continuous bike tours in Styria. The tour leads along forest and meadow paths, forest roads and various road sections to the most beautiful places, most interesting excursion destinations and highest peaks in the region.
A special service along the tour “Der große Jogl” is the luggage transport - simply cycle carefree, without any annoying extra luggage. While you are on the road, your luggage will be taken to your next stage destination (by 5 p.m. at the latest).

Rettenegg is located in the Fischbach Alps at the confluence of the Pfaffenbach and Feistritz rivers. The roads coming from Pfaffensattel and Feistritzsattel also meet there. The southern part of the area belongs to the Styrian Joglland.
By car
From Graz: via the A2 to the Gleisdorf-West exit; follow the B64 to Weiz; B72 to Birkfeld, Ratten, Rettenegg
From Vienna: via A23 to exit Bruck a. d. Mur; continue on S6, follow L117 to Rettenegg
- We start in Rettenegg and in Ratten we make a detour to the Pretul (Roseggerhaus)
- We stay on the main route and ride to St. Kahtrein am Hauenstein
- In the mining area we turn right to the Roseggerhof farm
- At the Roseggerhof we come to the Alpl, where we turn right
- At the Schlagbauer crossroads, we head towards Waldtoni-Alm
- From Fischbach we ride to Birkfeld
