Genusstour (pleasure tour) Bad Waltersdorf

The "Genusstour" (pleasure tour) stretches through the beautiful thermal spa town of Bad Waltersdorf and is suitable for both hikers and bikers.
Starting from the "Kurpark" (spa garden), you can discover 19 adventure stations along the 12-kilometre route. There are plenty of parking spaces and an e-bike charging station. At the starting point you will find the folder incl. route map and stamp pass.

Enjoyment is not only symbolised by the snack boards along the way. More than nine culinary stations invite you to enjoy everything from cake and coffee to savoury snacks and a good glass of wine.

The route is also ideal for families - playgrounds along the route:
  • Bad Waltersdorf spa gardens
  • Maluhof farm
  • Seiler-Ziegler village inn
  • Weinhof-Bergstadl Pichler
  • Gasthof-Restaurant Teuschler-Mogg

Stamp pass competition:
At the end of each summer season, all participants with a stamped folder will be entered into a prize draw to win overnight prizes in Bad Waltersdorf. The folder with stamp pass can be found at the starting point of the route in front of the Kulturhaus Bad Waltersdorf. Stamps can be collected at the following businesses along the route:

Kulturhauscafe Bad Waltersdorf
Buschenschank Pieber
Weinhof Buschenschank Thaler
Farm shop Pichler family
Maluhof
Janisch farm store
Seiler-Ziegler village inn
Thaller farm dairy
Fiedler farm store
Bergstadl wine tavern
Hotel-Gasthof-Restaurant Teuschler-Mogg
The Willis - golf restaurant
Thermal spa farm store

Info about the trail:
The path is partly asphalted, leads over forest soil or gravel and there are always short climbs to master. The entire tour is easy to manage on foot or on a mountain bike with a medium level of fitness. The route is also suitable for baby carriages, in this case the ascent to Maluhof via Thermenstraße (Heiltherme to Steirerhof) is suitable - not via the forest section.

More information

Detailed information on how to get there can be found here.
From the historic town centre, you can reach the thermal park with the public thermal spa directly. Turn right and you have already arrived at the first gourmet stop, the family-run Buschenschank Der Pieber. Followed by the Buschenschank Thaler wine tavern, where music is also at home. Strengthened by the first delicacies, the route continues slightly uphill. The climb is worth it! The Maluhof not only offers home-made food, but also a breathtaking view over Bad Waltersdorf. From here, the route continues over the ‘Sauberg’. At the Janisch farm shop, you are given an insight into farming, a life as you would imagine it. After two more adventure stations, you reach Leitersdorf and the Seiler-Ziegler village inn. Here the route is slightly downhill. A break in the cosy garden under large, old trees is a must. For the next ascent, you can quickly fill up your snack bag at the Fiedler farm shop. Then it's uphill to the Bergstadl-Pichler wine farm. Once you have taken a seat on the panoramic terrace, the thermal spa and volcanic landscape stretches out before you in all its natural beauty. After a good kilometre, past the blowpipe and archery course, you reach a small motor skills park at the Gasthof-Restaurant Teuschler-Mogg. Off you go into the final spurt. Past the 18-hole golf course, with the golf restaurant "Das Willis" the famous church tower of Bad Waltersdorf is in sight. Sometimes you get lucky and are guided by the hot air balloons above the town centre. The end point is once again the spa gardens.

Don't forget: Get your ice cream at the Kulturhaus, free with three stamps. Fill in the competition card and drop it in the letterbox at the end point.
Discover the 16 adventure stations along the way and linger at the numerous culinary stations.
