Kirchsteigweg St. Georgen am Kreischberg

Circular hike for the whole family in the municipality of St. Georgen am Kreischberg. The tour is also considered a village tour to get to know the village of St. Georgen ob Murau better.
The circular hiking trail leads from the district of St. Lorenzen am Kreischberg further in the direction of the golf course, via the district of Kaindorf. From there the trail leads back to the district of St. Georgen am Kreischberg and from here to the starting point, the Info-Pavillon St.Lorenzen am Kreischberg.

This is an easy hike in the valley, which is also suitable for families.

From D, NL, B, F: Via Munich, Salzburg, Tauernautobahn to St. Michael/Lungau (or Radstätter Tauernpaß), turn off to Tamsweg - continue towards Murau.

From H: Via St.Gotthard, Graz - Packautobahn (exit Twimberg) - Judenburg - Scheifling - Murau - Kreischberg.

From CH: Via Arlberg, Innsbruck, Bischofshofen, Tauernautobahn.

From I: Via Tarvis, Villach, St. Veit/Glan, Scheifling, Murau, Kreischberg.

By car from Vienna: Via Semmering, Bruck/Mur, Judenburg, Scheifling, Murau, Kreischberg.

From the starting point at the information pavilion in St. Lorenzen (near the information office), walk in the direction of the Kreischberg valley station, across the parking lot in the direction of the Hotel Relax Resort. Past the hotel, continue in the direction of Tischlerei Stolz. After the Stolz carpenter's workshop, keep to the right and follow the road to Sport Suli. Then turn left and walk along Grabenstraße until you reach the junction Dorfplatz/Edelheiß. Follow the road to the village square. From there, follow Marbachstraße in the direction of the golf course. After the club restaurant "Pfiff" you cross the railroad crossing and follow the road for about 4.2 kilometers until you come to a crossroads. Keep left and cross the bridge over the Mur River in the direction of the main road. After the underpass keep left again. After about 50 meters there is a sign "Kirchsteig". Follow the sign and walk along the field path. Pass the Seidl family farm and walk along the road towards the village. Below the church, turn left towards the main road, go through the underpass and continue over the wooden bridge in the direction of the starting point.
