The Raumberg loop is ideal for anyone who not only wants to be active while running, but also wants to take in the scenery and culture. Between quiet residential streets, green fields, historic buildings and shady forest paths, you will experience a particularly varied route around Irdning. This varied running circuit starts at the leisure center in Irdning. You start your loop south of the main road in the direction of Irdning Hauptplatz. Pass the traffic circle and the Billa shopping center, cross the road at the crosswalk and then turn right into one of the small side streets. For orientation: The Irdning kindergarten is on the opposite side of the road.
Follow the signs through a quiet residential area in the direction of the Capuchin monastery Falkenburg, which you leave on your left at the parking lot. Shortly afterwards, you will come to the Katzensteig path, which you follow through a residential area and then into a shady wooded area. At the next junction, turn onto the Winkerln-Erlsberg-Weg and continue in the direction of Ebisweg until you reach the Johannquelle spring.
From here, a path leads you through the forest until you reach a quiet residential area. Continue along Disentalerweg on a field path to the next crossroads, where you follow Rüscher-Siedlungsweg. This will take you to the main road and the “Donnerbach / Rüschersiedlung” bus stop.
Keep right here and walk along the road until you see a bridge over the Donnerbach on the left-hand side. After crossing the bridge, take the path on the right, which will take you back to Raumberg without any further junctions. Once you arrive in the residential area, your path leads you to the Raumberg chapel.
Now you pass the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, an important educational and research location for agriculture. After the school grounds, turn right, walk past Gumpenstein Castle and return to the Falkenburg Capuchin monastery. From here, take the familiar route through the residential area and along the main road back to the Irdning leisure center - the starting point of your tour.
