The district capital of Weiz is located in eastern Styria and is very easy to reach via the A2 motorway from Vienna (approx. 2 hrs) and Graz (approx. 30 min).

Arrival from Vienna and from Graz:

On the A2 coming from Vienna and from Graz, take motorway exit 161 / Gleisdorf West in the direction of B54/B64. Follow the B65 / Gleisdorfer Bundesstraße until you reach the B54 / Wechselbundesstraße. At the roundabout, take the second exit north to the B64 / Rechberg-Bundesstraße. After approx. 15 km you will reach the town of Weiz.
From Graz via the main road: Take Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai and Wickenburggasse to Jahngasse / B67a. Follow the B72 to Weiz and take the exit towards Weiz -West.

Route planner

The tour starts opposite the town hall at the swimming pool in Weiz.
From there we start with a direct ascent past the town hall and over the Weizberg with the striking pilgrimage church "Basilika am Weizberg".
We continue to Landscha-Eben, via Hart and up to Hofstatt.
Shortly after the Patschabauern, the route continues on a forest road over the Patscha-Sattel and on to Greith.
Then it goes via Kogl to Zeil in St. Kathrein/Offenegg.
There we can visit wonderful excursion destinations or simply take a cosy rest in one of the numerous catering establishments.

There are plenty of places to stop for a well-deserved break along the route.
