Weinland Steiermark Bike Tour - Eastern Styria Round

Open
Discover the most beautiful points of the East Styrian wine country bike tour in four stages.

The starting point is the historic town of Hartberg, surrounded by vineyards of the East Styrian Roman Wine Route. The route continues south, where you can relax during a break in one of the numerous thermal spas. The hot springs and the comforting warmth will contribute to your well-being.

Of course, your culinary well-being will not be neglected either. On the stages you can get to know authentic producers around regional products in person. Numerous inns tempt you with specialities and delicacies.

One of the stages takes you from the beetle bean community of St. Ruprecht an der Raab through Austria's largest apple-growing region. The apple, as well as the beetle bean, has always been considered the region's leading product. A visit to the largest beetle bean refiner or to an apple farmer on the apple route is worthwhile here.

There is also a lot to experience for culturally interested visitors with a thirst for knowledge. The House of Apples in Puch near Weiz, the Ecopark in Hartberg or the hydroelectric power plant near Lake Stubenberg are always worth a visit.

And best of all, when you stay overnight in one of the GenussCard establishments, you receive the GenussCard as a gift from 1 March to 31 October and thus free admission to over 240 excursion destinations.

The tour starts in Hartberg and takes you first to St. Johann in der Haide. Then it continues south past St. Magdalena am Lemberg, Bad Waltersdorf to Bad Blumau to Fürstenfeld. On this first stage you can already visit excursion destinations in Hartberg, such as the museum or the Ringwarte. On the route you will find mainly recreational and bathing experiences, such as the H2O Therme or Heiltherme Quellenhotel Bad Waltersdorf.

The next day you continue from Fürstenfeld towards Söchau and then onto the R21 cycle path via the Rittscheintal valley. Next you follow the R11 cycle path in the direction of Gleisdorf, where you can take a break at the Laurenzi Bräu, for example. On the way to the next stage destination in St. Ruprecht an der Raab, a visit to the Steirerkraft Kernothek is worthwhile.

After a relaxing break in the Käferbohne village, you continue to the ApfelLand-Stubenbergsee region, where everything revolves around apples. Here, exciting guided tours and tastings around the Styrian Apple Road and many experiences at Lake Stubenberg await you.

Once you have arrived at the last stop, you will return to your starting point in Hartbergerland the next day. During the ride, numerous Buschenschänke (wine taverns) invite you to a culinary visit.
