Large Enns Loop Öblarn-Niederöblarn
Extended winter hike between Öblarn and Niederöblarn and along the right bank of the river Enns.
The large Enns loop is a varied winter hike. You walk through the villages of Öblarn and Niederöblarn and the Grimming sports area with the Niederöblarn airfield is also on your way. Along the banks of the Enns you can enjoy the winter peace and the quiet flow of the Enns. Here you can really slow down and forget about your everyday life. In addition to the wonderful river landscape of the Enns, the beautiful old houses in Öblarn and the Sacred Heart Chapel in Niederöblarn also offer beautiful photo opportunities.

In Espang turn off the B320 federal road onto the state road L734. Five kilometers to Öblarn, then turn left into the village. In the village center there is parking along the main road.
From the market square in Öblarn you start into the town. You walk past the Gasthof Stralz'n and the Öblarner Kulturhaus ku:L to the municipal office where you then continue along the Ostsiedlungsweg road. You follow this almost to the end of the town and then branch off into this at the second Hirmannweg junction. This is how you reach the Alte Landesstraße where you now continue to the left. You now leave the town of Öblarn and walk along the little-used road to Niederöblarn - past several farms. You will soon reach Niederöblarn and past the elementary school you reach the Grimmingtor inn and the Sacred Heart Chapel in the village. Here you continue left towards the town entrance on the state road. You get to the other side through an underpass. To your left is the Öblarn business park while you continue straight ahead and take the overpass to the Grimming sports area with the airfield. Before the path crosses the Niederöblarnbach rivulet, you turn right onto the road and continue north to the banks of the Enns. Once there, you now hike left upstream - but don't worry, there are hardly any meters in altitude waiting for you :) You hike along the beautiful Enns bank back to Öblarn and reach the Landesstraße via Gärtnerstraße. Here you cross the state road and walk back into town. Over the railway crossing, past the Öblarner Haus für Alle (ÖHA) and the “Café Rüsthäusl” you come back to your starting point at the market square.
The Gasthof Grimmingtor in Niederöblarn or the Kaffeerina in Öblarn are two nice places to stop.
Öblarn can be reached with the ÖBB regional trains (www.oebb.at).
From the train station you walk to the starting point at the village center via Bahnhofstraße in about 5 minutes.
Parking lots along the main road in the village center.
