This clear mountain lake is located 3 km northeast of Mariazell at an altitude of 827 m on the border between Styria and Lower Austria and is surrounded by green forests and meadows, adorned with a rich biodiversity in native flora and fauna. A natural jewel that invites you to actively recharge your batteries by swimming, rowing, diving and fishing, as well as to recharge your batteries by leaning back with your feet in the cool water. In the midst of the impressive mountain scenery, Lake Erlaufsee is an ideal starting point for many power-packed hikes, and an idyllic walking trail also leads around the lake.
On the left shore of the lake we walk along a narrow forest path to the Seewirt (ATTENTION: no longer open) - continue on an asphalt path past the Gut Lindenhof on the north shore back.
In sunny weather, nothing stands in the way of a swim. The Erlaufsee offers bathers a pebble beach, a large sunbathing lawn, 2 slides, footbridges, diving board and a children's playground.
