From Kulmberghof we hike along the hill quite level, first on a small road, later on a dirt road. Before going downhill, we have a wonderful view from the elevated tank towards Riegersburg. A little further down we reach a small road again at the schoolhouse. However, we immediately turn off again and continue hiking on the ridge along the edge of the forest until we come to the road. From here we go downhill past the Buschenschank Stöckler and then slightly uphill back to the schoolhouse. This time we follow the road downhill and then branch off onto a dirt road until we reach the Maria-Hilf chapel. From here it is only a short distance uphill to the Kulmberghof. If you want to take it easy, you can also turn around at the schoolhouse and hike back via the Maria-Hilf chapel.
Here in Gossendorf, the "Gossendorfer Naturfango" is also mined, a volcanic healing clay that purifies and detoxifies the skin and inhibits inflammation. As a result, the fango is particularly effective against pain in muscles and joints, rheumatism as well as skin impurities and has long been appreciated in the thermal spas in the area.
Every year, the Gossendorf Nativity Trail leads along this route, where more than 50 nativity scenes adorn the path from the 1st Sunday in Advent to the Three King's Day. With a lot of love, nativity stations are created from natural materials by the local residents.
