FF8 Hundertwassertour
An extensive hike partly through small villages and shady woods. We pass by the natural jewel of the 1000-year-old oak tree, which is deeply rooted in Bierbaumberg.
Since this is a circular tour, you can of course start at any point. If you want to get to know the culinary Styrian delights afterwards, you can start at the wine tavern "Zum Stoabocha". From here, the trail continues eastward for a short distance and then turns left up a small incline to Untergfangen. Following the route FF8 you then come to the shade forest. Especially on hot days this is a real benefit. Walking on the forest path is also very pleasant and the "forest bathing" goes by itself.
This route through the forest decelerates. You also pass by the Dachenriegel. Here it is worth visiting the farm store Rauers Ernte. There are fresh drinks and delicious snacks (power bars), seasonal fruits and vegetables. The route continues to the village of Bierbaum. On the Bierbaumberg the 1000 year old oak tree is a welcome sight for the hikers with its wide branches. Via the small village of Loimeth and the spa town of Bad Blumau you return to the starting point in Kleinsteinbach.

We start with the hiking route in Kleinsteinbach. First it goes a bit south and then left into a short climb. Along the edge of the forest in Untergfangen arrived, it now goes a bit downhill. On the right we see horses of the horse farm Nowak in the paddock. At the crossroads turn left approx. 600 m and then left again. After this short piece of road of about 300 m turn right. Pass the geothermal plant and enter the shadow forest. Let's enjoy the peace and power of nature through this forest. Arrived at Dachenriegel you can take a rest at the farm store Rauers Ernte (self-service open 24 h). Now turn right in the direction of Bierbaum. Before the railroad track and the bridge we turn right into the Florianiweg and cross the railroad track and enter the small village characterized by farmhouses. Passing the chapel, we reach the northern edge of the village via Angerweg and take the Eichenweg uphill to the 1000-year-old oak tree. It is worthwhile to take a long look at this tree, which is a natural monument. At the edge of the forest and through the forest we continue towards Loimeth. At the crossroads in the village turn right along the village street until you reach the Bad Blumau valley. With the village in front of us, we head towards the center of the village. After the Brugner farm store we turn right and cross the wooden bridge that leads us over the Safenbach stream to the Bad Blumau spa park. On the gravel path we pass the pigeon coop, biotope and willow farm. At the riding stable we can already see the starting point and walk across the traffic circle to Kleinsteinbach.
Take your time and rest at the 1000 year old oak tree.
