Our Favourite, a Schilcher!
Wineries in Schilcherland
Austria's smallest wine-growing region is already special, with a mere 611 hectares of vineyards. The wineries along the Schilcher Wine Trail in the Schilcherland have dedicated themselves to an old wine variety - the Blaue Wildbacher vine, from which the popular Schilcher is then pressed, and is so only here!
Schilcher, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Morillon, Muscat, Zweigelt ...
The list could be continued at will. Of course, the steep slopes of western Styria are mainly planted with the Blaue Wildbacher vine, from which the popular Schilcher is then pressed. But the Schilcherland is colorful and diverse. Thus, excellent white wines and distinctive red wines also thrive in this garden of paradise.
