The hiking marathon around the Almenland Nature Park!

Information for the hikes in May 2025:

The 24-hour and 12-hour hike is an absolute highlight of the hiking season in the Almenland Nature Park. Locals, hiking enthusiasts, and guests from near and far come to Breitenau am Hochlantsch to collectively push their hiking limits. The high-altitude hike around Breitenau, with all its mountain peaks, offers breathtaking views of the Mürztal valley, the Hochschwab, and the Styrian foothills.

24-hour hike
In 24 hours, participants will hike 56 kilometers and ascend 3,200 meters - with some breaks, but without sleep!
The route: Breitenau - Rennfeld - Eibeggsattel - Strassegg - Sommeralm - Teichalm - Hochlantsch - Schüsserlbrunn - Breitenau

Meeting point: May 23 at 5:00 PM at the village square in St. Jakob (district of Breitenau am Hochlantsch)

12-hour hike
approximately 22 kilometers, 1,000 meters of ascent
The route: Strassegg - Teichalm - Hochlantsch - Schüsserlbrunn - Breitenau

Meeting point: May 24 at 5:30 AM at the village square in St. Jakob (district of Breitenau am Hochlantsch)
Participants will be transported by bus to Sommeralm.

Entry fees:

24-hour hike: € 105.00
12-hour hike: € 80.00

The entry fees include guided tours and shuttle service (even in case of early withdrawal). Additionally, there is complete catering with 3 warm meals and coffee with cake at the finish. There will also be supplies available along the route and a digital photo service. At the end, participants can enjoy a massage at the finish as well as shower facilities on site. There will also be a large prize draw for all participants and a keepsake gift.
