Montan educational trail Arzberg
PassailOn the educational trail, the "silver boys" tell a story about the silver tunnels in the mining village of Arzberg. Information boards, signage and also the "Blick ins Almenland" attract hiking enthusiasts to the nature trail. In addition, the only silver mine in Eastern Styria and the entry point to the popular Raabklamm is on the way.
The approx. 5 km long nature trail starts in the center of Arzberg and leads over forest and meadow paths. There is a large car park in the center of the village as well as a stop at the Kirchenwirt.
On the circular route, the "Silver Boys" tell the 750-year-old history of Arzberg and its mining. The beautifully designed boards bring this topic a little closer, especially to children. The many (old) tunnels that can be found along the way tell their own stories. The trail is easy and can also be walked with dogs (on a leash).
Before or after the hike, you can visit the Arzberg silver mine and the local history museum. Other nearby excursion destinations are the Almenland Stollenkäse and the "Moarhofhechtl" farm. You can also combine the round with a hike in the Raabklamm or a bike tour on the "Tischlein-Deck-Dich" tour or on the R11 "Raab Valley Cycle Path".
Take advantage of the opportunity and travel by public transport.
