From historic jets to the movie star in the hangar – a sky full of stories

The Austrian Aviation Museum at Graz-Thalerhof Airport brings the history of technology to life. Run by volunteers as an association and funded through entrance fees as well as subsidies, it has preserved fascinating insights into the world of aviation for decades. More than 40 aircraft in and around the hangar tell stories from military, civil, and sports aviation. Among them are rare jets, propeller planes, gliders, gyroplanes, and an electromechanical flight simulator that makes the sensation of flying experienceable up close.

A special highlight is the Transall C 160, a German-French transport aircraft that even made history in film: In Feldkirchen, it served as a backdrop for the Hollywood thriller "Big Game" featuring Samuel L. Jackson. Today, this impressive aircraft giant can not only be admired but also rented for corporate parties, weddings, or special events.

From May 1 to October 26, the museum is open on Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guided tours for bus groups, school classes, or aviation enthusiasts can also be arranged by phone outside of these hours.
