country party - cycling tour, Fladnitz an der Teichalm
Open
The bike tour in the Almenland Nature Park leads around
Fladnitz an der Teichalm, passes fields, meadows and farms and impresses with many viewpoints.
A “country trip” is usually not exciting. As the name suggests, it's about the country and less about spectacular experiences. This bike tour pays homage to this very special “country” in the Passail basin. From farm to farm, from town to hamlet, the route goes quietly up over the hills towards Rechberg and Schöckl. These slight inclines also provide wonderful views over the tranquil landscape, which can be particularly enjoyed in the quiet surroundings. And then you suddenly realize how relaxing this “area” is!
Stop:
Gasthof Donner, the best regional cuisine in the town center, with a bowling alley and public swimming pool
Vital Hotel Styria, upscale cuisine in a cultivated ambience with a view
The tour mainly leads along asphalted roads, a few hundred meters also on unpaved paths. A mountain bike is not required, if necessary dismount and push.

Marking: continuous cycling tour “Landpartie”
- We drive a short distance up the state road in the direction of Teichalm to the intersection.

- At the next intersection we continue straight ahead in the direction of “Nechnitz”.
- After the climb we turn left towards “Tulwitz” and drive up the hill.
- At the next intersection turn left down into the town of Tulwitz.
- Before we reach the town center, we turn right at the so-called “Blue Cross” onto the forest path in the direction of “Reithof”.
- At the intersection above we keep left and drive down the path into the “Reithof” district.
- We now have a wonderful view: on the far left we see the Patscha, the Weizklamm goes out in between, then we see the "Gösserwand", and the Raabklamm runs underneath. In front of us, with the transmitter mast, we see the Schöckl, the summit to the right of us is the Sulberg.
- We are now in the “Reithof” district, at the intersection near the bridge we turn right.
- At the next intersection we keep left and drive past large farms and flowering meadows to the intersection with the federal road (B64).
- Now turn left for a short distance along the federal road (cycle path!) to the “Tulwitzviertel/Blumau” intersection.
- We cross the main road and drive up to the right, following the sign “Almenland Sennerei”. If we book in advance, we can buy cheese and perhaps take a look at the modern cheese factory.
- We follow the path and drive along the ridge, a little along the stream and through the forest until we are back in “Tulwitz”. On the left we can now see the Sommeralm with the striking wind turbine.
- Make sure we don't miss the turnoff down to Schrems! We now drive left down to the intersection with the federal road (B64).
- There we turn right and drive past the BP gas station to the next intersection.
- After a few meters we turn left up into the street that leads back to "Fladnitz" or to the "Teichalm".
- The state road, partly on the cycle path, leads us back to the starting point in the center of Fladnitz.
In the town center of Fladnitz, the GH Donner awaits hungry cyclists, the bowling alley provides entertainment, and the public outdoor pool provides refreshment.
