The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Semmering railway, SÜDBAHN Museum and other museums in Mürzzuschlag, as well as all kinds of sports: The Styrian side of the Semmering pass offers plenty of highlights.
If you go hiking in the Hochschwab massif, you might spot one of the local chamois or ibexes. Expect varied themed trails and a wealth of Alpine plants, which you can explore during a herbal hike. Winter sports enthusiasts love the region’s abundance of natural snow, while culture lovers appreciate the sights of the municipality of Thörl, including Hammerherrenhaus or Schachenstein Castle Ruins.

Fans of knights and falconry should visit Oberkapfenberg Castle in the neighbouring city of Kapfenberg, a centre of sports and high-tech innovations.
