Via Fischgraben to the orphan blacksmith, Fischbach
We hike along the stream over the Fischgraben to the Waisenschmied (orphan smith) and back along the Fischbacher Spazierweg (Fischbach footpath) with a wonderful view of the high-altitude health resort of Fischbach.
Leisurely and varied circular walk with forest, water and views.

From Vienna via the A2 southern motorway and the S6 Semmering motorway to the Kindberg exit. Here through the Stanzertal valley on the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.
From Graz via the Weizer-Bundesstraße B72 to Birkfeld and from here via the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.
From Linz/Salzburg/Munich via the A9 Pyhrn motorway and the S6 Semmering motorway to the Kindberg exit. Continue as above.
Village square, Fischbach
- We start our tour from the village square in Fischbach to the bathing pond. Leaving this behind us, we follow trail no. 11 along the Fischbach stream until we reach the Angerkarl - an important junction of several hiking trails
- There we change to trail no. 16 in the direction of Waisenschmied
- We reach this - hiking slightly uphill - via a paved path and shady woods. At the Waisenschmied, we continue along trail no. 16 and change at the next fork to trail no. 10 - the Fischbacher Spazierweg - a paved trail with a wonderful view of Fischbach
- Beautifully decorated farmhouses now accompany us on our way home, which leads via the Zinkhof, the Waldandacht and the Riedlerhof
- At the Riedlerhof, we turn right to the old mill and hike back to the starting point via the so-called Kreuzriegel
Many refreshment stops await hikers in Fischbach. There is also a bathing pond and a mini-golf course.
