Hartbergerland Bike Tour
A leisurely cycle tour in the East Styrian Hartbergerland without any major climbs - through the Hartberger Gmoos, past several sights to the Maria Lebing pilgrimage church.
The bike tour, 20 kilometres long, leads us on paved and mostly asphalted paths from the HERZ via Gmoos, then along the railway to Hopfau and Geiseldorf. The way back takes us along the Dombach stream through a forest to Lebing and back to the HERZ.
This tour is also suitable for people with limited mobility, as it is free of obstacles and steep inclines.

More information
Detailed information on how to get there can be found here.
- We start out of town in the direction of Hartberger Gmoos and join the R35/Hartberger cycle path.
- We soon reach Hartberger Gmoos, a nature reserve, which we cycle through.
- We leave the Gmoos and then turn right and continue along the railroad line.
- We now cycle along the R35 cycle path for a few kilometers until just before the freeway bridge.
- Now the markings change, i.e. we now leave the R35 and follow the "Drahteseltour" markings over the highway bridge.
- Once in Geiseldorf, we keep left and cycle a short distance along the cycle path, parallel to the main road.
- At the next junction, we turn right and continue in the direction of "Unterdombach".
- We continue straight on through the village of Unterdombach and reach the R35/Hartberg cycle path again at the junction to Unterbuch.
- We continue straight ahead, always on the R35, until we reach Totterfeld.
- We turn left at the Wenzel company. We can now see the Ökopark wind turbine on the right.
- Continue straight on towards the pilgrimage church of Maria Lebing.
- Immediately after the training center, we turn right downhill and pass the regional hospital.
- Cross the road at the traffic lights and continue left along the cycle path. Passing the parking lot, we are now back in the Hartberger Gmoos.
- We cycle towards the town and turn right down Augasse.
- After passing the tennis courts, we reach the starting point again at the skater park.
We recommend a detour to the historic center of Hartberg with its many shopping and dining options.
There are plenty of free parking spaces and e-charging stations directly at the starting point at the HERZ Hartberg recreation centre.
