The tour starts at the train station in Kainisch and branches off from the well-known Salzkammergutradweg >R19<. Over the Radlingpass you reach the direction of Grundlsee, the largest bathing lake in Styria. The descent from Radling to Grundlsee is certainly one of the centerpieces of this bike route.
In Grundlsee you turn sharply left in front of the Seehotel and cycle via Obertressen to Altaussee. Before that, there are magnificent views of the Dachstein from a wayside shrine on the side of the road, significantly named "Dachsteinblick".
Altaussee, the charming village with its numerous villas, invites you to take a break. Always in the face of the Loser, the road climbs a bit again to the Blaa-Alm, which delights every visitor, especially during the daffodil bloom. In the cozy alpine hut you can then get your well-deserved refreshment.
If you wish, you can continue on to Bad Ischl. There you continue on the gravel road. After a right-left combination you descend into the Rettenbach valley.
Attention steep step with coarse gravel! Please enjoy the narrow Rettenbach valley with caution, unclear curves and possibly oncoming traffic, also encounters with cars and little space to avoid!
After the narrow valley and a sinister tunnel, the country opens up and the Rettenbachalm is in front of you. Then it's just briskly out of the valley, until finally the imperial city of Bad Ischl is reached.
