Lake Erlauf

At an elevation of 827 m, the Erlaufsee is located 3 km northwest of Mariazell on the border between Lower Austria and Styria.
On sunny days, nothing stands in the way of enjoying a swim at the Erlaufsee. The lake offers bathers a pebble beach, a large sunbathing area, 2 slides, 2 piers, a diving board, as well as a playground. Dogs are allowed in a small section (from the 2nd pier downward to the end of the sunbathing area).

For hot summer days, the mountain lake is a pleasant refreshment. The average temperature ranges from 19 to 22 degrees in summer. The drinking water quality and the clarity of the lake demonstrate the pure and healthy environment. The bathing area is free of charge and accessible to all. A parking fee is charged for the parking lot: Location/Arrival - Erlaufsee. Parking is free between 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

A special delight is a boat ride to explore the Erlaufsee. In suitable weather, 30 boats – pedal, electric, or rowboats – are available. Let the waves rock you and enjoy the majestic surroundings.
