Moonway, Ratten
The Mondweg is a comfortable circular trail with a few climbs, which leads you from the center of Ratten through forests and along field paths back to the starting point. After about 1 1/2 hours you reach the inn "Dirndlhof". Afterwards, the Keuchgraben leads you back to the village center.
Ratten is located in the Upper Feistritztal at the foot of the Fischbach Alps in Joglland. Brown coal was mined open-cast in Ratten until 1960; the mining museum and the Montanweg are reminders of this time. Today Katzen is an attractive holiday resort with a hiking area between 740 and 1,660 meters above sea level. The Moon Trail starts in the town center and first leads along the Feistritz out of the town, then it goes over a steeper climb to the Kirchenberger homestead and on to the “Dirndlhof” inn with a playground and game reserve. We then return to the town via the Keuchgraben. There are some nice rest areas along the way, the eight panels on the themed trail were elaborately designed by the rat artist Alois Tösch and provide information on the topics: solar eclipse, low tide, high tide, new moon, waxing moon, full moon, waning moon and space travel. The Moon Trail is an easy-to-walk themed trail for the whole family!
