Rowanberry Panorama Path
Open
The rowanberry panorama trail in Styria is an adventure hiking trail entirely dedicated to the Almenland Nature Park regional tree rowanberry, vlg. Rowan berry, is dedicated.
Because birds like the bright red berries of the mountain ash so much, the mountain ash in the Almenland is also called "rowan berry". Due to the noble distillery Graf, which produces the multiple award-winning and highly praised rowanberry brandy from the berries of the rowan, the place has a special connection to this plant.
The trail itself has several experience stations, from a panorama sofa to a sound oasis to a forest xylophone. On the larch meadow and at the Schwoaghofer pond, tables and benches await tired hikers. Along the way, you can learn interesting facts about the rowan berry, which are well presented on panels. The last stretch of the trail leads along the "Duftweg" around the church in the center of town. The wonderful view also makes this trail attractive!
The Sulamith Garden and the Graf Distillery are located directly on the trail and invite you to visit them.

More information
- We start at the Kathreinerhaus in the center of St. Kathrein and walk a bit up the road in the direction of "Oberhollerbach/Kircheben".
- Watch out, the signpost on the right now leads across a meadow and past a chapel up to the "Rastplatz an der Lärchenwiese".
- The marked path now leads past the telescope, the forest xylophone or the giant chair.
- At the Schwoaghofer pond we can refresh ourselves with a "Brunntrog beer" and enjoy the peace and quiet at the pond.
- Past the "Lange Bank" we walk back downhill towards the Zeiler Straße.
- Now the enjoyable part of the route follows: past excursion destinations and nice opportunities to stop for refreshments, we return to the village.
- At the "Horseshoe Panther" we cross the country road and go down to the left via the parking lot.
- Now we have reached the "Duftgarten", which ends behind the church at the hotel "WILDer EDER".
- Across the churchyard or along the road we reach the starting point "Kathreiner Haus".
The special rowanberry schnapps should of course be tasted, either directly from the producer or at one of the innkeepers along the route.
