Camp sites at a glance
Let’s start by the Röcksee lake, where campers can enjoy a wonderful lake view! The Röcksee is an enticing 27 degrees. The camp site by the same name is the perfect spot for keen swimmers and fishing fans.
Three spas ‒ one camp site: that’s the motto at Campingplatz Bad Waltersdorf. This site enjoys a central location amid the gently undulating hills of the Thermenland region. The Heiltherme Bad Waltersdorf is just a two-minute walk away, while the H2O-Therme in Bad Waltersdorf is located two kilometres away. The Rogner Bad Blumau spa is not much further at five kilometres. Golfers can tee off at the 18-hole golf course in Bad Waltersdorf.
Bad Gleichenberg has been shaped by 180 years of spa resort tradition. The KURHAUS Bad Gleichenberg takes its cue from the latest research to make sure that guests benefit from a holistic wellbeing experience. Just three kilometres away is the Campingplatz Bairisch Kölldorf, a modern complex that makes the ideal base for spa visits to Bad Gleichenberg, or excursions to the Riegersburg.
Cyclists will be in seventh heaven at the small border town of Mureck. You’ll find lots of cyclists out and about near the Reisemobil- & Wohnwagen-Stellplatz Mureck. The famous Murradweg Cycle Trail runs past the site, which is also accessible to disabled guests. Its location is fairly central: only a stone’s throw to the town centre, traditional wine taverns, and the “Murecker Schiffsmühle” floating mill. The nearby hot springs are also within easy reach, as are the South Styrian and Klöcher Wine Roads.
Pedalling along the Murradweg will also take you past the Campingplatz Gosdorf. This is situated in Bad Radkersburg, close to Röcksee lake.
The Campingplatz Fürstenfeld is surrounded by a beech grove by the quietly babbling Feistritz, in the heart of the Thermenland Steiermark region. Visitors can enjoy direct access from the camp site to the outdoor swimming pool in Fürstenfeld, the largest in Austria. Those in search of some peace and relaxation will find it at the three surrounding spas in Loipersdorf, Bad Blumau and Bad Waltersdorf.
However, those who prefer a bit more buzz during their leisure time should head for Bad Radkersburg, the southernmost spa town. Its historical old town is the perfect place to wander. Don’t forget to pencil in some time for wellbeing: the Parktherme Bad Radkersburg camp site is situated directly by the Park Spa.
A new camping paradise is planned in Riegersburg too, due for completion in September 2022. With the mighty Riegersburg as its backdrop, it is sure to become a significant tourist draw for the historic market town.
