Adventures on Präbichl

Hiking, climbing, paragliding and mountain biking: Präbichl is the perfect destination for mountain sports enthusiasts. Hikers use it as the starting point for the high-altitude trail in the Eisenerz Alps or the crossing of Hochschwab. In the cold season, the mountain pass becomes a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts.

Families as well as experienced skiers and snowboarders flock to the diverse slopes. Away from the slopes, winter hikers enjoy stunning scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

However, you’ll not only experience plenty of variety in terms of sports but also when it comes to culinary delights. The culinary establishments on Präbichl serve traditional cuisine, vegetarian dishes, and they cook with food intolerances in mind.

Alpfox Adventure Park

Your search for an exciting climbing experience is bound to lead you to Alpfox Adventure Park. The high-ropes course is in a unique location high above Lake Grüblsee. 15 different routes offer pure variety, both for beginners and experienced climbers.

Another fun experience high above Lake Grüblsee is the "Flying Foxy" zipline. On six different lines, you can fly up to 15 metres above the crystal-clear water and enjoy a magnificent view of the lake.

All good things come in threes, and the Alpfox Adventure Park also offers its visitors a three-wheeled experience of a special kind: Mountain carts were specially developed for descents in alpine terrain and promise maximum downhill fun. Daredevils can choose from several routes, the longest of which leads them back to the starting point via Erzberg cable car.

Alpenaquarium Grüblsee

Ein besonderes taucherisches Highlight kann man im Alpenaquarium Grüblsee am Präbichl erleben. Eingebettet in den Bergen liegt die höchste Tauchbasis Europas mit ihren unzähligen Fischen, die mit der Hand unter Wasser gefüttert und sogar gestreichelt werden können.

Wer dieses einzigartige Erlebnis ohne Vorkenntnisse einmal ausprobieren möchte, kann nach kurzer Anmeldung mit professionellen Tauchlehrern die ersten Erfahrungen unter Wasser bei einem Schnuppertauchen machen oder auch einen gesamten Tauchkurs in nur wenigen Tagen absolvieren.

Tauchen als Familiensport: Schnuppertauchen ist bereits ab 8 Jahren möglich, ein Tauchkurs bereits ab 10 Jahren. Die Kurse werden bis hin zur Ausbildung zum Tauchlehrer angeboten

Hiking on Präbichl

Short and crisp or long and leisurely: In the area, nature lovers can choose from numerous hiking routes. The tour onto Eisenerzer Reichenstein, for instance, is particularly popular. Erzwanderweg (ore hiking trail) from the top of the Präbichl pass to Vordernberg is a laid-back hike.

Interesting: The trail runs along the Dulnig ore conveyor railway, which was used to transport ore until 1891. Hikes accompanied by experienced mountain guides such as Gabi and Marco Großschädl are a special experience as well. They take their guests on the most beautiful tours around Erzberg in groups of no more than ten people.

Cycling on the Präbichl

Mountain bikers take note: Präbichl is a true eldorado for all those who like to bike. One popular route is the scenic MTB LN6 Präbichltour, an extension of the LN5 Vordernbergrunde. It leads bikers almost entirely along side roads and past alpine pastures and reservoirs.

Tip for lovers of environmentally-friendly electric action: A varied loop through Schlumperwald forest awaits you at the E-Trial Park on Präbichl. No previous experience is required, and neither is your own e-trial bike. Simply take advantage of the rental offers on site and hit the trails!

Winter sports at Präbichl

Three chairlifts, two tow lifts and numerous slopes are waiting for visitors of all ages at Präbichl ski resort. Beginners best start with the family-friendly slopes. Experienced skiers can show off their skills on the more challenging slopes and at "Die Wilde" terrain park.

Alpfox ski school offers lessons during which beginners learn how to ski, snowboard or freeride. Seasoned winter sports enthusiasts can take lessons that help them finetune their technique. The offers include day courses, group lessons and private lessons. Variety is provided by

a sledging run,
the cross-country skiing areas of Eisenerzer Ramsau and Krumpenloipe, as well as
select hikes that can be explored on snowshoes.

Präbichl hut village

A stay at Hüttendorf Präbichl (hut village) is a special experience, including magnificent 360-degree views. There is room for up to seven people per hut, and visitors enjoy amenities such as a wood-burning stove, sauna, and hot tub. The huts are in an optimal location for numerous activities both in summer and in winter.
