The Almenland Nature Park is characterized by the diverse pilgrimage sites that can be explored along this staged route.
- Stage 1: Pernegg an der Mur - Rennfeld - Buckecksattel - Breitenau am Hochlantsch (Gasthof Hofbauer)
- Stage 2: Gasthof Hofbauer - St. Jakob - St. Erhard - Hochlantsch & Schusserlbrunn - Teichalm
- Stage 3: Teichalm - Sommeralm - Brandlucken - Heilbrunn
The stages are designed so that at the end there is always a place to stop for refreshments or to spend the night or a public transport point (train, bus, SAM station). This means the hikes can also be shortened.

More information
The pilgrimage route starts in Pernegg an der Mur. There are two pilgrimage churches waiting for pilgrims here: the Frauenkirche in the town center and the Maximiliankirche in Kirchdorf (not directly on the path, junction). We continue on path no. 714 to the Rennfeld to the Ottokar Kernstock Haus. Over the 1,275m high Buchecksattel and the Schlaggraben, past the chapel at the Obersattler inn and the Hocheck chapel, you continue to the Hofbauer inn in Breitenau am Hochlantsch. Then we go via the town of St. Jakob, where the parish church is located, to St. Erhard with the pilgrimage church. Via path no. 5, also called Pastor Franz Kelz Path, you hike up to the Schusserlbrunn pilgrimage church, which clings to the rock wall on Hochlantsch. We continue down to Teichalmsee with several places to stop for refreshments. You hike back up to the Heulantsch summit and continue towards the Sommeralm past the Stoahandhütte and the Haberlstall Alm Hut. The next striking point is the wind turbine and the Plankogel on the Sommeralm. Via the Stoakoglhütte and the “Bucklige Lärche” you go down to the Brandlucken. Here you can still find the idyllic Mauhubert Chapel and the Brandlucken Chapel. In Heilbrunn, the pilgrimage church concludes.
